The Mechanical Engineering & Contracting Co (“MECC” ), a member of Ali-Alghanim Group of Companies which is one of the

leading Companies in the Construction Industry.

MECC established in 1967 by a group of experienced Engineers, who brought their skills and experience to develop the

company and to serve the Oil and Gas Industry in Kuwait.

In the beginning, the MECC started as small organisation with limited number (around 35 no’s), with limited investment

that support the company capability for the securing projects worth of $50,000 – $150,000. With the passage time and

the success of small projects. MECC has been able to recruit experienced staff in oil & gas sector and expanded the heavy

equipments division that supported the growth to $320 million.

Today, MECC has a reputation in worth marketing and can build projects worth $ 800 million & above.

  1. Health, Safety and Environment Inspections

5.1 The concerned engineer, supervisors or foreman shall conduct daily health safety and environment inspection in their respective area

5.2 Safety officer shall conduct daily health, safety and environment inspection around the project. Summarizes the reports and Submit to the Project Manager for immediate corrective actions. Copy furnished to the Corporate safety and clients if, required.

5.3 Monthly Health, Safety and Environment Inspection shall be done by safety officer and corporate safety and submit report to the project manager, concerned construction manager, head office and clients if, required.

executes projects in excess of US $ 300,000,000.

1.1 Experiencein Petrochemical Sector & Clients Approved Category Over 400 km of below ground pipe works have been successfully executed by MECC. As could be

seen from the projects schedule MECC currently working on projects for Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait National Petroleum Co., and Equate. Approvals of KOC/KNPC/CTC

to execute different category of works.

1.2 Knowledge of Local/International Codes, Standards MECC worked on many projects in Kuwait for KOC,KNPC,MEW and international contractors and are fully

conversant with international codes and standards requirements and applications. MECC employ QA/QC Engineers and KOC/KNPC approved safety Engineers.

1.3 ISO Certification MECC is an ISO9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007 certified organization and have their own quality system to meet client need and

satisfaction.

1.4 Capability to Execute Works MECC have substantially owned resources and as a part of Kuwait’s Major Trading Groups have all physical and financial resource to fulfill

contractual obligations.

The Project Development Division is adequately geared up with highly experienced personnel, fully computerized for executing

its functions. The Division is operational with the following activities

Main Function

  • Project Development.
  • Pre-Qualification & Registration.
  • Preparation of Commercial and Technical Proposals.
  • Estimations & Tendering.

The tendering documents are received and the client’s special requirements such as Engineering, Free issue Material, Erection, All Risk Insurance, Site Offices, Critical

Milestone of the Project, extended period of construction/commissioning with certain lapse of time, etc., are identified by a reviewer.

The Reviewer makes his notes and discusses with the Estimator. The estimations starts with floating the enquiries and entering all activities in to the computer. The

Databank is extensively used for the retrieval of man-hours and provisional material cost. The quotations are used to replace the provisional material costs.

The Project Summary Sheet is prepared with material breakup, Manpower, Equipment Vehicles and other Contractor requirements. The Manager Project Development

Division Complete the additional costs involving in-direct supervision, safety and overhead costs before it is sent to the management for review. The duly filled tenders

are boxed in as per the Bidders instructions and the results are later on collected and evaluated before the information is fed in the computer for future estimation

purposes. The feedback regarding the productivity of several activities from the Construction Projects are received and the databank is accordingly updated.

The tendering department involves in all types of post tendering activities with clients including all technical aspect clarification, negotiation part if, need. Arranging all

necessary Insurance Policies (WCP/EAR) required to sign the contract with client.

  • Inventory Management at Head Office and Site Stores.
  • Sub-contract Agreements.

The primary responsibility of the Procurement is to assist the Construction Projects Division to perform within the project’s pre-established budget and scheduled goals.

It also provides direct and indirect assistance in obtaining, at the most competitive price, appropriate materials as per the contract specification & drawings and arranging

for safe delivery on or before the contracted scheduled dates. Procurement also implements methods concerning potential cost savings, bulk purchasing

activities and searching potential alternate sources of supplies.

Procurement establishes administration and execution policies and procedures for efficient planning, requisitioning, purchasing, evaluating, negotiating,

expediting, source inspection and transportation of material and equipment.

Procurement mainly comprises of the following personnel:

  • Procurement Executive –Supervises all purchasing section activities and assignments, establishes section policies, operating procedures and budgets.
  • Technical / Commercial Engineers –Four professional engineers are assigned for proposals evaluation for both technical and commercial terms and create vendors List.
  • Procurement Assistants–Skilled procurement Assistants are assigned to perform all clerical functions and activities such as sectional reports, letters to vendors

and suppliers. To maintain a well documented filing and computerized database system to input in formation in purchasing department tracking system and follow-

up of correspondence to suppliers and vendors.

  • Buyers – Efficient buyers who procure locally available material as per the purchase order required from vendors and ensures timely delivery of right material to the

relevant sites.

electromechanical contracting for clients and cushion in all its activities. Our factory promising in the field

of manufacturing the air condition ducts of square and circular shapes, as well as all of the components,

accessories & insulation materials used for various projects. From day-one the company undertook

Our Stainless Steel factory has a full-fledged stainless steel fabrication team with the best equipments. They
